Coral and I believe that after many years of taking opportunities, it is our turn to give back to the community. We have been advocates for several community organizations such as:
- Australian Kidney Foundation (supporting others who suffered like my mother), the
- Centenary Institute (high tech research to solve complex strategic medical problems) and
- St Vincent’s Hospital (one of Australia’s most iconic teaching, research and public Hospitals. Click here for their “WHY”), and the
- Uiver Restoration Trust (restoring an iconic aircraft that put Albury on the world stage in 1934).
-
StVincent’s Patient Safety & Quality Symposium (August 2017)
We are both keen to do more: to engage our skills in the things that we love doing to achieve the biggest benefit for others.
Disabled Wintersport Australia
I am honoured to be the Patron of DWA.
Coral and I have been skiing together since our first days at Trysil in Norway (QF32 p73), so it has been our pleasure to commit to joining and supporting the great and passionate people at Disabled WinterSport Australia (DWA).
The Governor General of Australia announced my Patronange at a Reception at Government House in Canberra in July 2013.
My mission as Patron (with Coral’s help) is to help every member find their strength, fortify their resilience, and through that realise their full potential.
Give Back – NOW!
NOW is the best time to plant a tree!
We need your help. DWA is a worthy cause that changes lives and gives hope to those that had previously only known despair.
For those who have been on the receiving side of others’ gratuities, NOW is the best time to come join us at DWA. NOW is the time to “give back”.

Amanda Gannon (DWA Guide and Qantas Flight Attendant), Walter Cole with Declan (They skied for four days. Perhaps Declan will aspire to train for the APC!
Please contact me if you wish to help and contribute to any of these honourable organisations.
